Time magazine and Money magazine both named Sarasota's New College as the 2nd Best College Bargain in the U.S. New College is a very exciting approach to higher education. Sarasota Florida offers a complete lifestyle for young and old alike. Governor Jeb Bush, during his years in office, has made education a priority. Unfortunately, the Mr. Bush is term-limited and not available to run again. He retired in 2007. One can only hope the next administration will work as hard for the education agenda. GBrey

The "ABC's of the Sarasota schools: A. A child must be 5 years old by September 1 in order to enter kindergarten. B. To enter first grade, a child must be 6 by September 1 and must have attended kindergarten. C. Every school has an attendance area determined by your family's address.
Parents may go to their children's designated school at any time to register their children. The sooner the better. Be sure to bring:
1. Birth certificate
2. All Immunization records
3. Proof of physical exam within the last 6 months
4. A proof of your residence
