Living in Florida

There are millions of people who are living in Florida and many more who consider it to be a vacation paradise and an ideal place to live. Living in Florida is always popular because of the mild and tropical climate found there. This has always held a special attraction for people from snowbound America. During the past few decades Florida has especially gained repute as a good vacation destination due to the several theme parks that were built there during the late 1960s. In fact, Orlando in Florida is known as the vacation capital of the world. All of this has happened because of the ever increasing flow of tourists attracted to Florida. Vacationing in Florida is especially good because the vacationers get to experience a bit of everything thanks to Disney World, Universal Studios, Sear World, and other very popular theme parks along with one of the largest convention complexes in the world.  

While the theme parks and stage shows continue to draw crowds there is also quite a lot for people who prefer their vacations quiet and calm. Florida features some of the most pristine and relaxing beaches in the world located in the Sarasota, Longboat Key, and Siesta Key areas. There are many types of accommodation available in these areas that include houses just steps away from the beach. 

For those with historical interests, Florida is also the house to the oldest city in the United States of America. St. Augustine, founded in 1565 offers a very different type of architecture than you will find anywhere else in the United States. While there are many ways in which you can enjoy a relaxing vacation while partaking of the several historical details in this area perhaps the best way to relax would be to stay in a bed and breakfast along the main highway. The evenings too are quite enjoyable when spent sitting on the front porch of the grand mansions and watching the horse drawn carriages pass by. 

Of living in Florida is a lot different than vacationing in Florida but the news stays good with Florida being one of the most sought after retirement locations including the popular retirement communities in Sebastian and Vero beach. The retirement homes in Florida are unique in the sense that they offer all the modern amenities and easy access to major metropolitan areas while still existing in an atmosphere of relaxation and beauty away from the urban chaos. 

The smaller cities that have cropped up all over Florida are not as laid back as you might assume. There are many activities and recreational options available even in these small cities. The Indian River Mall is just one of the many locations offering shopping, restaurants, and one of the original stadium style seating theatres in Florida. Similarly, Vero Beach offers a world famous museum and playhouse.
