As is the case with many Sarasota areas, the museum area is a blend of contemporary and traditional architecture. Here one can find large houses sitting on the beautiful Sarasota Bay. Many of the areas historic mansions are found in the museum area. Mixed into this region, there are also smaller, more affordable housing which Sarasota is desperately in need of. It is a very charmed-filled and eclectic area. It encompasses the John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art, the Asolo Center for the Performing Arts and New College/USF.
