California Real Estate Summary

California real estate is like its weather ? hot!  The population continues to grow as the job market expands and the economy increases.  The state remains a land of opportunity, therefore making California relocation popular and lucrative for many people. 

Los Angeles real estate is in high demand in several areas.  Los Angeles homes are much higher priced than other cities since many celebrities live there with it being close to Hollywood.  The average sale price is over one million dollars, and places like Malibu are several million dollars.    Due to the high price tag, houses are on the market for 60-90 days.

San Francisco real estate is also hot since there are many more buyers on the market than sellers.  The home sale prices have climbed and are 15-20% higher than last year.  The average sale price of a house is $410,000 and it sits on the market for only 10-30 days. 

California real estate is still a growing market, but the growth is not in the double digits like the boom of the 1990´s.  More people are living in condominiums, townhouses and houses already built since the cost of living remains high in coastal towns and major cities.
