Sarasota Golf Courses

The Sarasota area offers many opportunities for physical recreation, and golf is a popular pastime for residents and visitors alike.  Courses ranging from public to semi-private and private, casual to formal, welcome players in greater Sarasota, and additional courses are located in nearby Bradenton and throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. 

The fine year-round weather in Sarasota and environs makes the region attractive to amateur and professional golfers.  The area hosts various golfing events year-round.  Greater Sarasota also offers golf vacations, golf gear retail outlets, golf clubs, golf course real estate, and golf schools for all ages and abilities.

The TPC (Tournament Players Club) Prestancia private golf club is owned and operated by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc., the parent company of which is the popular PGA Tour.  The TPC Prestancia has hosted 13 PGA Tour events, 8 Chrysler Cup Tournaments, 5 American Express Invitationals, and one Senior PGA Tour event.  The club is located just east of Beneva Road/Cloister Drive, and can be contacted at (941) 922-2800.  More information is also available at http://www.tpcatprestancia.com.

Golf course residential communities are a major draw of the Sarasota area, offering comfortable living options in beautiful environs and with convenient leisure opportunities, often literally in a homeowner´s backyard.  The Concession is a gated community of luxurious, architecturally-distinctive homes set along a Jack Nicklaus-designed Signature Golf Course.  More information about the community, which will feature an 18-hole golf course in addition to a practice range, golf shop, and Clubhouse, is available at http://www.theconcession.com.
